The only insurance provider we are in-network with is Medicare. For all other insurances, we are an out-of-network provider. A superbill will be provided with all the information your insurance company requires to process a claim. We can do this on your behalf or you may submit it independently if you choose.
Georgia is known as a direct access state and does NOT require you to have a prescription to be seen by a physical therapist. This can make all the difference in keeping an injury acute (short-term) versus it turning into a chronic (long term) issue. However, due to the limiting nature of how the state statute is written it is best that we work together in attaining a referral from your primary care provider, orthopedic doctor, chiropractor, etc before your second session in order to provide the most comprehensive healthcare experience possible. (This will also be necessary for those wishing to submit superbills to their insurance company for reimbursement). Should your examination findings be out of our scope of practice we will not hesitate to refer you to the appropriate provider.
For physical therapy it is important for the physical therapist to have access to visibly examine, palpate and treat your body, muscles, tissues, and joints. You should bring a pair of comfortable shorts or yoga pants and a sleeveless shirt or tank top. For runners specifically, please wear contrasting colors ( i.e. dark colored shorts, light colored non-white top) as this allows us to analyze your hips and low back accurately with the assistance of dartfish technology.
Most clients experience relief in pain in 3 to 5 sessions. Each individual is unique and this number can vary due to multiple factors. Your sport or activity is never discouraged during this time unless your short or long term goals do not align with your current presentation.
Dry needling is a very effective method used in our practice to decrease pain, especially those presenting with pain for more than 3 weeks. Although dry needling is not used for everyone it is beneficial to the majority of those who have it performed in conjunction with their treatment. Per the statute of Georgia a referral from your primary care provider, orthopedic doctor, etc will be needed in order to have these services performed. We will work with you in helping attain the required referral so that you don't have to make any unnecessary appointments.
Your first session is typically between 90 and 120 minutes. A thorough evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, exercise regimen, and education on your diagnosis and it's implications takes time. Your success is our priority and our schedule is structured to ensure this. Subsequent sessions are typically concluded in 60 minutes.
